  • Auto Overheat Cut-Off Protection
  • Noise level at 45 dB

This heater is meant to be set on the floor while running. It has a mesh-front safety grill, and an auto-shutoff in case the unit gets too hot. This model requires a 220v power source and a special 30-amp fuse. It is powerful yet safe. The metal casing keeps all the elements inside safe, so you don't have to worry about it breaking just from bouncing a bit in the back of your vehicle on your way from job site to job site.

How to Use

This heater is portable, so it is possible to carry it to different job sites, although its primary purpose is to heat your garage. First, you need to find a 220v socket in your garage. Clear and area and make sure there is nothing right near the heater. Set the heating unit on the floor and plug in the three-prong plug to the 220ov socket.

Once you have your space cleared, and you have your heater set up and plugged into the appropriate outlet, turn the on/off knob clockwise to the "high" position. Starting on high allows the room to heat up quickly. Once you have reached the desired temperature, you can either just turn the heater down, or you can set it to auto on and off. To set it to auto on and off you need to slowly turn the knob counterclockwise until you hear a click.

That click will come right before you reach the off button. Once you have done that, the unit will turn itself on and off based on the ambient room temperature.

This unit can be used for garages, construction sites, basements, and workshops. It is not to be used in your home. Once you are done using this heater, it is important to turn it off and unplug it.

The Dr. Infrared DR-988 has built-in safety features to provide you and your family with a heater that is both effective and safe. The metal mesh safety grill keeps hands, and fingers, that might accidentally touch the unit safe.

The specially designed earthed safety plug includes a rounded grounding prong to protect you and your home from overheating and electrical fire.
This heater is equipped with overheating cut-off protection. If the heater begins to overheat or not work properly this safety feature will kick in and turn the whole unit off.

Always make sure the area you are running this heater is free from debris. To clean this unit, use a damp cloth to wipe the outside, and a vacuum to remove dust from the inside. Only clean this unit when the power cord is safely unplugged and away from a power source. Never use any type of liquid cleaner. Check and make sure that the fuse that your 220v outlet runs off of is 30amps for maximum safety.
